Tips on Selecting Your Long-Distance Phone Service

Usually, having a wide selection from which to choose is an advantage. That allows us to identify the products which make the most sense given our personal tastes and circumstances, and many people love picking Cavalier Telephone. Having said that, when it comes to long-distance (LD) phone service, the variety of plans offered by carriers can seem overwhelming. Rarely do they come with a single rate or fee. Instead, the price you’ll pay each month will depend heavily upon your company’s usage; the monthly cost can rise or fall based on several factors.

Below, we’ll describe the items that are most influential to your business’s long-distance phone costs. Then, we’ll take a look at pricing and rates as well as other charges you should watch for. By knowing which factors have the greatest impact upon your bill, you can choose the LD plan that is best suited for your company’s needs and budget, and perhaps pick Cavalier Telephone.

Key Items To Review Before Choosing

Selecting a carrier and a new plan is a long-term investment. Take the time to review your business’s calling patterns over the last several months carefully. That is the only way to ensure that your company will enjoy as much value as possible from the new service, which may very well be Cavalier Telephone.

Determine how many calls and how many minutes you and your staff are spending on non-local connections each month. Also, take note of the average duration of the calls, where they’re being placed to (national versus international), and the rates you’re currently being charged. If you’re paying a different per-minute price at varying times throughout the day, make a note of that, too. That way, you can make a reasonable comparison of other long-distance packages based on your company’s unique call profile.

Pricing And Rates

Many LD carriers advertise plans with one easy rate. However, there is usually more to discover underneath the surface. For example, a provider might charge one fee for calls made to certain locations and a different fee for calls make to other locations. Just realize that these packages are often more complex than they seem.

Also, some carriers charge a variable rate while others charge a fixed price. This is one of the reasons you need to identify your business’s normal calling usage. If a variable price is attached, you’ll likely pay more for connections made during business hours. That said, a variable plan may be less expensive based upon your company’s calling profile.

Additional Charges: Expect The Unexpected

In addition to the per-minute fees you’ll pay for your long-distance service, you may also need to pay monthly fees, minimum charges, and surcharges. Monthly fees can span an enormous range, so ask your provider to clarify whether they levy them and how much they are. Also, if your business’s calling volume fails to exceed a predefined minimum, your LD provider may levy an additional fee. Finally, surcharges can be levied for a wide assortment of actions. Ask your carrier to explain every instance in which a surcharge would be applied to your company’s account.

Partnering with a reliable long-distance provider is an important component in satisfying your business’s phone communication needs. Follow the tips above to select the right plan for your company.

Make Your Search Marketing Campaign Effective

mzserena
Posted in Non Television

Internet marketing has several sub categories like organic search engine optimization, website marketing, off-page and on-page optimization, conversion marketing etc. If you already have a website and are keen to market it to generate targeted traffic, you need to start right at the beginning. Make it search engine friendly. After all, Google contributes to 60% of the entire search engine traffic. Optimizing your website to be ready to receive high volumes of targeted traffic is the best foundation for starting your Internet marketing campaign.

Unfortunately, in order to rank high on Google SERPs your website needs a large amount of authority, and older sites typically perform better. Typically, website over a year old has the potential to top search engine rankings easier. However, there is nothing to worry about even if your website has just gone live. Remember, by working hard to search engine optimize your website, will hold you in good stead in the future and you will see excellent results for your website marketing effort.

One of the easiest and most effective organic SEO methods to draw the search robots to your new website is by working with keywords and terms relevant to your business. Keywords are words or groups of words that future visitors may type on search engines to find what they are looking for. For example, if a visitor is looking for a ‘affordable Fendi handbag,’ they may type any of the following keywords or terms – handbag, affordable Fendi handbag, Fendi handbag, discounted Fendi handbags etc. By using the most relevant yet less competitive keywords, you may be able to generate good traffic for your website faster. Everyone will compete for Fendi Handbag, but a lot smaller portion of websites will compete using seed keywords like Cheap, Affordable & discounted.

Website marketing campaigns can only be success and bring good results if you opt for organic SEO, and you should always avoice black hat marketing techniques. Ask any SEO professional about the benefits of organic SEO. They are bound to tell you that it is THE MOST EFFECTIVE SEO technique ever and delivers time and time again, despite being a slow starter. But then patience is a virtue and in order to see exacting results of your website marketing campaign, you’ll need to be patient and have faith in your campaign’s strategy.

Using article marketing, press releases, blog marketing, do-follow blog comments, forum links and other similar techniques can help you build traffic and direct targeted traffic to your website. Only when you get visitors to your site and build confidence in them to place an order for your products, will you be able to break even and start making a profit. The more common your product or service, the tougher it’s going to be for you to market and establish your website.

While there are several ways to promote your website, the best way to guarantee the success of your website marketing campaign is by choosing the best keywords with the least competition, then building quality links to your website from relevant websites. Like the old saying goes: “too many cooks spoil the broth,” working with too many promotional methods at the same time may mean very little satisfaction. So, work hard, but work smart when it comes to effective website marketing! Post provided by Dataflurry search engine optimization, an organic marketing company helping customers from a vast number of industries.

Clay Aiken sounds off on `American Idol,’ Lambert

Clay must have written one hell of a diatribe on his website. Too bad he’s gone and removed the actual entry so no one else can form their own opinions. Sad, frankly. He posted a retraction/clarification in it’s place. Guess what, Clay? Removing it makes you look even more guilty and stupid. Man up, Clay.

Increasing Storage Space Capacity

mzserena
Posted in Non Television

This article has been provided by Peak Logix, a Virginia-based leader in material handling and pallet racking refinement.

The non-profit organization Central Virginia Food Bank was faced with increasing demands for their services and dwindling resources, and needed to increase its pallet storage space capacity, At the same time, they aimed to improve accessibility to each load. PeakLogix installed a pallet racking system that includes selective pallet racking and pushback pallet racking. PeakLogix was able to formulate a plan to provide the racking system while not interfering with everyday business. The new system increased total pallet storage by 400 pallets in a dry storage area. Also, it allows workers to access individual pallets without having to move any others in the process. This saves the non-profit both time and money. It, indeed, had many dancing through the streets after its installation.

So, to recap: PeakLogix installed a pallet racking system that includes selective pallet racking and pushback pallet racking of 2-deep, 3-deep, and 4-deep storage arrangements. The new system increased total pallet rack storage by 32 pallet loads in the cooler, and 56 pallet loads in the freezer. It increased the total pallet number by such a substantial percentage that everyone involved in the project was quite satisfied.

I’m starting to run out of Reality Shows to watch. I have absolutely no use for Donald Trump after the latest Celebrity Apprentice. When he fired Tionne, I was not surprised. I remember when he did that to Bradford a LONG time ago. But when he fired Khloe over Clint? That’s BULLSHIT. Clint steam rolled the team and did what he wanted. His viral video SUCKED. It was firing-worthy, imho. But he fired Khloe for having a DUI and taking care of business. I understand that having a DUI isn’t a good thing, but come on, is that a reason to get rid of her? No. Fire based on the task, asshole. I’m seriously pissed and have serious reservations about watching any more of that crap.

I don’t really have much of a reason to watch to watch Dancing With The Stars now that Wozniac is off. There is no one else left that I particularly care for. I can already see the winner being Gilles. It’s not even fun to watch, especially with all the injuries.

I think that I may, finally, be over reality television. Could that be? Nah! I still watch quite a bit of it. I will say that the new ones that they’ve come up with, like Pretty Wicked, will not be anything I watch. I just have to stop watching these train wreck shows like Rock Of Love Bus or I Love Money. Tila Tequila is supposed to have a new one coming on. Need to avoid that, no matter how hot she is.

Broadcasting legend Paul Harvey has died at age 90

Broadcasting legend Paul Harvey has died at age 90

By RUPA SHENOY | Associated Press Writer
7:51 PM CST, February 28, 2009

CHICAGO – Paul Harvey, the news commentator and talk-radio pioneer whose staccato style made him one of the nation’s most familiar voices, died Saturday, ABC Radio Networks said. He was 90.

Harvey died surrounded by family at a hospital in Phoenix, according to ABC Radio Networks spokesman Louis Adams, where Harvey worked for more than 50 years. No cause of death was immediately available.

Harvey had been forced off the air for several months in 2001 because of a virus that weakened a vocal cord. But he returned to work in Chicago and was still active as he passed his 90th birthday. His death comes less than a year after that of his wife and longtime producer — Lynne.

“My father and mother created from thin air what one day became radio and television news,” said Paul Harvey Jr. in a statement. “So in the past year, an industry has lost its godparents and today millions have lost a friend.”

Known for his resonant voice and trademark delivery of “The Rest of the Story,” Harvey had been heard nationally since 1951, when he began his “News and Comment” for ABC Radio Networks.

He became a heartland icon, delivering news and commentary with a distinctive Midwestern flavor. “Stand by for news!” he told his listeners. He was credited with inventing or popularizing terms such as “skyjacker” and “Reaganomics.”

“Paul Harvey was one of the most gifted and beloved broadcasters in our nation’s history,” ABC Radio Networks President Jim Robinson said in a statement. “We will miss our dear friend tremendously and are grateful for the many years we were so fortunate to have known him.”

In 2005, Harvey was one of 14 notables chosen as recipients of the presidential Medal of Freedom. He also was an inductee in the Radio Hall of Fame, as was Lynne.

Harvey composed his twice-daily news commentaries for ABC from a downtown Chicago office near Lake Michigan. He spent winters in Phoenix.

Rising at 3:30 each morning, he ate a bowl of oatmeal, then combed the news wires and spoke with editors across the country in search of succinct tales of American life for his program.

At the peak of his career, Harvey reached more than 24 million listeners on more than 1,200 radio stations and charged $30,000 to give a speech. His syndicated column was carried by 300 newspapers.

His fans identified with his plainspoken political commentary, but critics called him an out-of-touch conservative. He was an early supporter of the late Sen. Joseph McCarthy and a longtime backer of the Vietnam War.

Perhaps Harvey’s most famous broadcast came in 1970, when he abandoned that stance, announcing his opposition to President Nixon’s expansion of the war and urging him to get out completely.

“Mr. President, I love you … but you’re wrong,” Harvey said, shocking his faithful listeners and drawing a barrage of letters and phone calls, including one from the White House.

In 1976, Harvey began broadcasting his anecdotal descriptions of the lives of famous people. “The Rest of the Story” started chronologically, with the person’s identity revealed at the end. The stories were an attempt to capture “the heartbeats behind the headlines.” Much of the research and writing was done by his son, Paul Jr.

Harvey also blended news with advertising, a line he said he crossed only for products he trusted.

In 2000, at age 82, Harvey signed a new 10-year contract with ABC Radio networks.

Harvey was born Paul Harvey Aurandt in Tulsa, Okla. His father, a police officer, was killed when he was a toddler. A high school teacher took note of his distinctive voice and launched him on a broadcast career.

While working at St. Louis radio station KXOK, he met Washington University graduate student Lynne Cooper. He proposed on their first date (she said “no”) and always called her “Angel.” They were married in 1940 and had a son, Paul Jr.

They worked closely together on his shows, and he often credited his success to her influence. She was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 1997, seven years after her husband was. She died in May 2008.

Trading Spaces Is No More

TLC confirms it has canceled ‘Trading Spaces’ after eight seasons
By Steve Rogers, 02/06/2009

TLC has confirmed that it has canceled Trading Spaces, its once high-flying flagship series, after eight seasons.

“TLC has ended production of Trading Spaces with its eighth season,” TLC president Eileen O’Neill said in statement released to Reality TV World on Friday. “Trading Spaces helped put TLC ‘on the map’ as a breakout hit that brought new highs to cable viewership. The show and its talent became household names and we’ll always celebrate that success.”

All 26 of Trading Spaces’ eighth-season episodes have already aired, according to the network.

Last year, TLC revamped the long-running home makeover series — which had traditionally featured pairs of neighbors swapping homes and performing single-room makeovers on a $1,000 budget — by tweaking the show’s format and bringing back former host Paige Davis, whom the network had fired as part of a 2005 decision to move the show to a new “host-less” format.

“Trading Spaces was at its very best when Paige Davis was at the helm and the fans still miss her… we’re thrilled to welcome her home,” now-former TLC president Angela Shapiro-Mathes said in a November 2007 statement that announced the revamp.

During its ratings heyday, Trading Spaces was the No. 1 cable show on Saturday nights. In October 2003, a Sunday night broadcast of a Trading Spaces $100 Grand special that featured two pairs of homeowners performing $50,000 makeovers drew 9.1 million total viewers — which was more viewers than either ABC or NBC drew in the same time period.

In addition to bringing back Davis and many of the show’s former designers, the revamp also included an attempt to bring “an emotional hook to every angle” by having each episode feature two couples that had a less perfect relationship, such as divorced couples, dueling mothers-in-laws, workplace rivals and feuding neighbors.

The network also replaced Banyan Productions — the production company that had produced Trading Spaces since the show’s second season — with A. Smith & Co., a production company that had typically produced somewhat edgier reality programs like Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, Paradise Hotel, Forever Eden, The Swan, and Skating with Celebrities programs.

However the revamp failed to revive the show’s once-impressive ratings and Shapiro-Mathes — who had made reviving Trading Spaces one of her top priorities since she had joined the network seven months before the revival’s announcement — ended up leaving TLC only eight months later in July 2008 when the network’s management reportedly became unhappy with her “creative direction,” which had included an April announcement to re-brand TLC around themed nights of programming.

In addition, Shapiro-Mathes — a former Fox Television Studios executive from Los Angeles — had also shifted the Discovery Communications-owned network’s programming operations from Discovery’s headquarters in Silver Springs, MD to Los Angeles.

Shapiro-Mathes was replaced by O’Neill, a longtime Discovery employee who had previously run the company’s Planet Green, Discovery Health and Fit TV networks. While running Discovery Health she developed Jon & Kate Plus 8 — which emerged as TLC’s top-rated series when Shapiro-Mathes was running the network. (After airing its first two seasons on Discovery Health, Jon & Kate Plus 8 moved over to TLC early last year.)

Hints that TLC had decided to end Trading Spaces first emerged yesterday when A. Smith & Co announced that Davis will serve as the host of Life For Dummies, a new syndicated program that will be based on the For Dummies book line published by Wiley Publishing, Inc., and used the past tense to describe their Trading Spaces work.

Davis subsequently revealed the show’s cancellation during a Friday interview with NBC’s WVIT-TV affiliate in Hartford, CT.

“It is not actually being renewed — you’re the first person I’ve told that to actually,” Davis told the station.

“I’ll remember the impact we had on people’s lives, on homes and in the industry,” she added. “It catapulted an entire genre of TV.”

According to A. Smith & Co, Life For Dummies will use a combination of interviews, studio demonstrations, field segments and personal testimonials to present its information in a “simple, often humorous style.”

90210: The New Generation

mzserena
Posted in Uncategorized

So, I missed the premiere of the new 90210 series, but I managed to snag myself a copy and watch it today. It’s definitely not the old 90210, but there are a few familiar faces, including Kelly and Brenda, but especially Nat. I think I’m going to enjoy watching the new series quite a bit. There are children of the originals, which is scary to think about, but it’s quite appropriate. Kelly’s little sister is a teenager even, along with Andrea and Jesse’s daughter Hannah.

I’m looking forward to watching more of the series. Hopefully I’ll enjoy the rest as much as I do the first two episodes. It’s nice to see Lori Loughlin in a decent show. I didn’t care for Summerland, even tho she was in it. It’s also weird to see Shannen Doherty back as Brenda after being in Charmed. I kind of hope more of the older characters make a few appearances.

Anyway, that’s my thoughts on that.
